What is Pilates?
Pilates is a system of strengthening exercises, conditioning the body and engaging the mind. It integrate the flexibility and strength to improve posture, creating balance and at the same time reducing stress and pain.
Can anyone do Pilates?
Pilates exercises are safe exercise and unless directed by a doctor due to illness or injury, it can be done by anyone. The exercise is done in control movements make this exercise accessible for any age and fitness level. There are specific classes for beginners and advance client. Being low impact, it is also particularly suitable for pre and post –natal women.
How do we conduct our class?
Under the guidance of a certified Pilates instructor Pilates exercises aim to create precise and controlled yet flowing and elegant movements. We begin by stabilising you through developing the deep abdominals forming a corset around your torso to create core strength. We then mobilise you through a series of movements to strengthen muscles, encouraging joint mobility and releasing tension. Joseph Pilates developed mat exercises which are fun and challenging but he also developed special apparatuses to get people to access his method even more. Using adjustable spring of resistance, the apparatuses are effective in isolating muscles, creating control, strengthening the body in a balanced manner. Practised regularly, Pilates helps to improve posture, prevent injury, and enhance physical and mental wellbeing.
